The Danks Brothers

John pitches tonight against the Tigers in Detroit and Jordan is leading off and playing center field after homering yesterday in the Sox’ 16-2 victory over Texas.  

Tonight’s Game

White Sox vs. Tigers at Comerica Park (6:08 p.m., CT, WCIU) in the first of a four-game series. Starters: LHP Danks (1-0, 3.32) for the Sox, RHP Anibal Sanchez (0-1, 3.21) for the Tigers. John will be making his fourth start of the season. He received a no decision in his last start on April 16 vs. the Red Sox, making his third consecutive quality start. He allowed one run, three hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out three.

Sox Starting Lineup: Jor. Danks CF, Semien 2B, Gillaspie 3B, Abreu 1B, Dunn DH, Viciedo RF, Ramirez SS, De Aza LF, Nieto C.

Plays of the Day

The Sox pounded out 18 hits and scored seven runs in the ninth yesterday in the win over Texas. Jordan Danks (1st) and Jose Abreu (5th) each hit two-run homers, Abreu added two doubles and three RBI, Dayan Viciedo walloped a solo shot (1st), a two-base hit and a run-scoring single while Marcus Semien cranked a bases-clearing triple, had three singles and drove in four…and there was more–Tyler Flowers collected three singles and scored twice to up his batting average to .389, Alejandro De Aza knocked out a two-run single and Conor Gillaspie had a two-run double and a sac fly…Erik Johnson went five innings, giving up only one hit, while walking five along with a pair of strikeouts for his first win.
