Home Team Charity Run.JPGHey White Sox runners, how would you like an opportunity to support the Chicago White Sox Charities and gain bragging rights as the fittest, most dedicated sports fans in the city?

White Sox, Blackhawks and Bulls fans will all come together April 3 to run in the inaugural Home Team Charity Run? 10K. The race will begin at the United Center, and end at a post-run festival at U.S. Cellular Field.

The post-run festival will feature food, beverages and a performance by Chicago singer and songwriter Michael McDermott.  Runners have a chance to win a photo with the World Series and NBA championship trophies, or an autograph session with your favorite players.

In addition to all that, each male and female first place runner will win four tickets to the April 13, 2011 Chicago White Sox game with a free parking pass and will throw out the first ceremonial pitch at the game that evening. Plus, they’ll each win VIP treatment at a 2011-2012 Chicago Blackhawks game and Bulls game. The top three male and female runners in each age bracket will also win a pair of tickets to attend a 2011 White Sox game and a pair of tickets to attend a Chicago Blackhawks and Bulls game during the 2011-2012 seasons.

The non-refundable entry fee of $60 is due by March 31, and includes a long-sleeved moisture wicking jersey representing your chosen team. 25% of your registration fee will go towards benefiting each team’s chosen charity.

We are determined to be the team with the most registrants, so register today and be sure to select White Sox as your representing team!

A Collector’s Dream

White Sox Charities Auction.jpgThursday, January 27, 2011

We have an amazing opportunity for all you White Sox collectors! During the opening ceremony of last weekend’s SoxFest, expressionist speed painter Elliott From of “Artbeat Live!”created a one-of-a-kind White Sox canvas art piece that is currently being auctioned off to benefit the Chicago White Sox Charities.

The original piece was signed by White Sox team members Paul Konerko, Mark Buehrle, Adam Dunn, Matt Thornton, Chris Sale, Sergio Santos, John Danks, Ramon Castro, Juan Pierre, Brent Morel, Alexei Ramirez, Jesse Crain, Harold Baines, Mark Salas and Ron Kittle.

You may remember Elliott from the Blackhawk’s championship season when he created a Blackhawks logo on the WGN Midday News, or the giant Blackhawks mural he painted on the outside of Tribune Tower before and after the Stanley Cup Championship (Go Blackhawks!).

Other Artbeat Live creations are owned by Mike Ditka, Alfonso Soriano, Hotel Intercontinental, WGN Radio, and the Chicago Police Department. Most importantly, all the money goes towards Chicago White Sox Charities, which provides annual financial, in-kind and emotional support to hundreds of Chicago-based organizations, including those leading the fight against cancer, improving the lives of Chicago’s youth through education and recreation, and supporting children and families in crisis.

The auction ends February 1, 2011 – so bid now and be sure to check back to make sure you’re still on top.
