With his scoreless seventh inning this afternoon, Jesse Crain now holds the White Sox record with 28 consecutive scoreless appearances. He was tied with J.J. Putz.


Play(s) of the Day

Back-to-back homers by Paul Konerko and Adam Dunn in the sixth inning of today’s matinee. Paulie’s two-run shot was his seventh of the season and 429th of his career. Adam’s solo blast was his 19th of the year and 425th lifetime. This was the second time the duo has gone back-to-back (it happened last April 23 at Oakland).

Tomorrow’s Schedule

White Sox vs. Royals at Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City (7:10 p.m., CT, CSN) in the first game of a three-game series. Starters: LHP Hector Santiago (2-5, 3.30) for the Sox, RHP Jeremy Guthrie (7-4, 3.72) for K.C.

Did You Know…

…that White Sox second base prospect Micah Johnson, who leads the minor leagues with 54 stolen bases for Class A Kannapolis, won the “Star of Stars” award Monday night at the South Atlantic League All-Star Game? Johnson stole second and third base on consecutive pitches and scored a run for the North Division in a 2-1 win over the South. In addition to his stolen base total this season, Johnson is batting .339 with five homers, 36 RBI and 64 runs scored in 66 games for the Intimidators. He’s shown here accepting the award:
