Tonight’s Game
White Sox vs. Marlins at U.S. Cellular Field (7:10 p.m., CT, CSN) in the opener of a three-game series. Starters: John Danks, making his first appearance of the season, for the Sox and Tom Koehler (0-2) for Miami.

He pitched 6.1 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out four.
Beckham Update
Gordon Beckham is having some discomfort in his wrist and will sit out until Wednesday when he is expected to resume activity. He’s rehabbing with Class AAA Charlotte.
Sox Day on WGN
It was White Sox Day on WGN-TV yesterday. Here’s a sampling of the segments, highlighted by some sage advice from the “Sodfather.”
Jeff Passan of yahoo.com echoes what all of us at the White Sox have known for years–trainer Herm Schneider is something special.
Quote of the Day
Alex Rios on his 17-game hitting streak, currently the longest in the majors (via the Sun-Times’ Daryl Van Schouwen):
“I don’t want to think about it; I just want to be consistent and have a good approach at the plate. If I get a hit, I get a hit. Sometimes you hit the ball hard and don’t get one. And you have to be OK with that.”
Play of the Day
Since we’re in the midst of a season-long celebration of the 1983 “Winning Ugly” A.L. West champs and yesterday was an off-day for the 2013 White Sox, let’s relive a memorable Sox win that happened 30 years ago today at Comiskey Park:
The Sox got off to a quick start with eight runs in the first inning and went on to crush the Red Sox, 12-4, at Comiskey Park. Greg Luzinski (pictured below), Carlton Fisk, Ron Kittle, Jerry Hairston and Lorenzo Gray all homered in the victory. A couple of interesting side notes…It was the fifth consecutive game in which Luzinski homered and it was Gray’s first and only major league home run.
Tomorrow’s Schedule
White Sox vs. Marlins at U.S. Cellular Field (6:10 p.m., CT, FOX). Starters: Jake Peavy (5-2) for the Sox, Ricky Nolasco (3-5) for Miami.
Did You Know…
that White Sox starters, whose 3.45 ERA ranks first in the American League, also are tied with the Tigers and Mariners for the most quality starts (27) this season? Furthermore, the Sox have the most quality starts in the major leagues (907) since 2003.
