Fans Now Have Opportunity to Donate Online Directly to Chicago White Sox Charities

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox today launched a new page on the team website that provides fans the opportunity to donate directly to Chicago White Sox Charities.  Fans can visit and contribute funds directly to the White Sox philanthropic arm, which supports hundreds of Chicago-based organizations.

Through White Sox Charities, along with the team’s year-round community relations efforts, the White Sox work to improve the quality of life for Chicagoans of all ages, races and genders.  With the generous support of White Sox fans, friends and corporate partners, White Sox Charities has donated more than $16.5 million to Chicagoland organizations since its inception in 1990.

Chicago White Sox Charities offers support to organizations leading the fight against cancer, dedicated to improving the lives of youth through education and athletics, and those offering support to children and families in crisis.  Donors can direct their on-line donations to specific initiatives.

Read this interesting story about the Top 15 pitchers sadly left out of baseball’s shrine.

Click here and read about Pierce and Tommy John.

Home Run Derby

Ozzie is in Venezuela this week for his country’s annual Home Run Derby (no, not to hit, to watch).

Before he left, he joked to me:

“There will be all of these great hitters there, Abreu, Cabrera, and Carlos Zambrano will win the thing.”

Sox Pride

The White Sox did buy a Spanish-language billboard, featuring Ozzie, on the outfield wall of the ballpark in Caracas.  Let me see if I can find a photo of it …
